AtlasAero is a certified drone operator and aerial imaging company located in Melbourne, Australia. We provide professional drone captured aerial imaging services for residential, commercial, industrial and government. Our drone captured aerial imaging services include aerial photography and film, aerial photogrammetry, asset inspections, aerial surveys and 3D digital terrain modelling.

AtlasAero is a CASA certified Remote Operator (ReOC) and fully insured for public liability. Our highly trained RPA pilots are experienced operators certified by the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority. Our RPA operators hold OHS White Cards, Remote Pilot Licences (RePL), Certificate III in Aviation and Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificates (AROC) which authorise them to communicate to local air traffic control for the purpose of air navigation safety within controlled airspace.

We use DJI Enterprise RPA’s, advanced imaging systems and survey equipment to provide our clients with high resolution imagery and highly accurate geotagged survey data. As an added precaution, our RPAS team is prepared with secondary backup RPA systems for changing conditions or operational issues that may arise.

Chris is the founding director and chief pilot of AtlasAero which was founded through Chris's search for better ways to understand and design our environment through the integration of drone technology into Landscape Architecture practice.

Chris has over 8 years' experience in Landscape Architecture working as Principal Designer in his own firm and as Senior Landscape Architect in private and public sector projects. Chris holds a Bachelor of Design and a Masters in Landscape Architecture. Through his work in various scale property developments Chris saw opportunities to utilise remote piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) as a valuable tool in the site analysis process.

Conventional site analysis methods can be costly, time consuming and limited in the range of site information or imagery collected.

Chris's use of RPAS's in his design practice allowed greater scope in visualisation and information gathering by capturing high resolution JPEG+RAW images, multispectral, or topographical point cloud data and other data types from remote-sensors at a broad range of vertical and oblique distances. This can efficiently reveal site conditions to designers, architects or engineers enabling more informed decisions for design and construction.

Parallel to Chris’ experience in Landscape Architecture and design is his long term interest and technical skills in remotely piloted aircraft, electronics and construction having designed, built and piloted custom drones for several years. Incorporating Chris’ architectural design experience and business expertise, with his technical knowledge and engineering inspires Chris to push the boundaries and find new opportunities for AtlasAero.

Chris' long term aim is to build AtlasAero into a results-focused global drone imaging service company with a design perspective and innovative processes, providing cutting-edge aerial imaging to analyse our environment so we can make better more informed decisions on how to maintain or improve it.
